Advancing new approaches to interprofessional education (IPE)

UBC Health’s role in supporting interprofessional collaborative health education

While UBC Health is not an academic unit responsible for the delivery of curricula, we play an important role in shaping the future of health workforce. We do this by developing innovative approaches to interprofessional education (IPE) and support its integration into both classroom and clinical settings across the province, aiming to strengthen team-based care and support continued improvements in how health education is delivered.

We are committed to:
• Helping health students and graduates gain the skills to work well in team-based, interprofessional settings
• Supporting students in understanding the diverse experiences of patients and communities
• Encouraging instructors and practitioners to lead and advance collaborative health education and practice
