Dr. Mieke Koehoorn

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Mieke Koehoorn has been appointed interim Vice-President, Health (VPH), and Dean pro tem, Faculty of Medicine, effective September 1 to October 31, 2025.

Dr. Koehoorn currently serves as Vice Dean, Academic Affairs in the Faculty of Medicine and is a professor in the School of Population and Public Health. She brings extensive experience in academic leadership, research, and mentorship.

Her interim appointment follows the conclusion of Dr. Dermot Kelleher’s term as VPH and Dean on August 31, 2025. 

We thank Dr. Kelleher for his extraordinary service and look forward to welcoming Dr. Sharmila Anandasabapathy as the incoming Dean and VPH on November 1, 2025.

We are grateful to Dr. Koehoorn for stepping into this leadership role during the transition period.
