UBC Health and the BC Centre on Substance Use (BCCSU) work together to enhance substance use education and training for health professional students at UBC. Through this partnership, a limited number of sponsored registrations are available for health professional students to attend the BC Substance Use Conference on April 20-22, 2023.

The conference theme is The Challenge of Change, which is intended to empower conference attendees to better understand and adapt to the rapidly changing landscape within which we live and work. There will be both online and in-person options for attendance, with the in-person program to be held at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver.

As a way to share their experiences and learnings, sponsored students will complete a post-conference survey. Students who attended the conference last year felt it had been an excellent experience and were left feeling inspired and with more empathy and understanding for people who use drugs.

Health professional students from across the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses who are interested in receiving sponsored registration may apply online by March 3, 2023 at 5:00 pm.

Limited in-person sponsored registrations will be available. Efforts will be made to distribute tickets equitably across campuses and health programs. Students will be notified by March 10, 2023 about whether they have received sponsored registration.
