The Canadian Interprofessional Health Collaborative (CIHC) recently announced the appointment of Carrie Krekoski, Practice Education Manager, UBC Health to its board of directors. She was also elected as an officer serving in the role of secretary.

CIHC is made up of health organizations, health educators, researchers, health professionals, and students from across Canada and works to strengthen the knowledge base and practice for collaborative, relationship-focused care and services.

As a director, Carrie works closely with other CIHC directors to govern the organization, shape its strategic direction, and monitor progress towards achieving the organization's strategic goals. Directors contribute to CIHC’s success in advancing its mission and enhancing collaborative healthcare practices.

Carrie is also chair of the CIHC Competency Refresh Working Group, which conducted an extensive two-year evaluation of the value and utilization of the National Interprofessional Competency Framework, including an engagement process across Canada. The refreshed framework is built on the foundation of collaborative relationships, with explicit language that addresses the partnership with persons served in the healthcare system and their families. The revised framework is expected to launch in 2024.

Please join UBC Health in congratulating Carrie on her appointment and leadership work at CIHC.
