Integration 2.0 Retreat

Bringing together health program partners to improve interprofessional education at UBC

On June 10, 2019, UBC Health hosted a retreat that brought together 36 colleagues representing 17 health program partners:

  • Audiology and Speech Sciences
  • Centre for Excellence in Indigenous Health
  • Clinical Psychology
  • Dentistry
  • Dental Hygiene
  • Dietetics
  • Genetic Counseling
  • UBC Library
  • Medicine
  • Midwifery
  • Nursing
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Patient/Community Advisory Committee
  • Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • Physical Therapy
  • Social Work
  • School of Population and Public Health

Thoughtful, engaging and collaborative discussions took place to identify a vision for the integration of Collaborative Health Education at UBC, measures of success, and opportunities to enhance the delivery of interprofessional learning. Health programs also began the process of mapping out opportunities for program flexibility and overlap that will support a more meaningful integration of the interprofessional sessions.

Most importantly, the retreat generated forward-thinking, innovative recommendations that will help shape the direction of Collaborative Health Education for the years to come.
