The Canadian Interprofessional Health Collaborative (CIHC) recently announced the appointment of Donna Drynan to its board of directors. Donna is Director of Education at UBC Health and Associate Head of Fieldwork and Clinical Faculty Affairs in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy in the Faculty of Medicine.

I am honoured to be serving on the CIHC board and look forward to contributing to the growth of interprofessional education and collaborative practice from a national perspective.

CIHC is made up of health organizations, health educators, researchers, health professionals, and students from across Canada. It believes interprofessional education and collaborative patient-centred practice are key to building effective healthcare teams and improving the experience and outcomes of patients. CIHC works to strengthen the knowledge base and practice for collaborative, patient-centred practice.

CIHC developed the National Interprofessional Competency Framework, which was used as the foundation for developing the UBC Health Integrated Curriculum.

“I am honoured to be serving on the CIHC board and look forward to contributing to the growth of interprofessional education and collaborative practice from a national perspective,” says Donna. “UBC Health has much to contribute in this space. Being involved in the board, on behalf of UBC Health, will enable UBC Health to strengthen its interinstitutional relationships.”

Please join us in congratulating Donna on her appointment.
