One year ago, the Office of the Vice-President, Health launched the UBC Health strategic plan for 2021-2026, Better Health Together. Representing the vision and priorities of the University of British Columbia in advancing collaborative health, Better Health Together provides a roadmap to connect people, ideas, and actions to advance health outcomes, equity, and systems.

UBC Health has made significant accomplishments since the strategic plan was launched, which are celebrated in the new UBC Health Strategic Plan in Action: Year 1. The report highlights activities and their impact over the past year across our three core areas—collaborative health education, interdisciplinary health research, and health systems.

Many of these activities address persistent health challenges and inequities that demand a collaborative approach. The report demonstrates UBC Health’s strength in facilitating connections and joint ventures across academic units and with external partners.

As the UBC Health team continues to implement the strategic plan, we look forward to continued collaboration across university and sector boundaries to achieve our collective aims.
