Why the Team-Based Care Teaching Clinic at Gateway? What We Offer.

The Team

Care is delivered by professionals practicing at the top of their scope across nine interdependent health professions, in partnership with patients as members of the care team. Team members are mutually accountable to one another and to patients, enabling true collaboration grounded in shared decision making, collective responsibility, and longitudinal relationships, rather than parallel or sequential care.

Professional Growth

Faculty appointments integrate clinical practice, education, and experience in team-based care into one role, with protected time for scholarly activity, research partnerships, and participation in a provincial network of academic excellence.

Clinical Impact

Your work generates evidence that shapes how BC delivers care. What works here scales province-wide. Cultural safety and trauma informed care aren't just training modules at the Gateway TBC teaching Clinic. It's foundational to how we practice, teach, and design care.

  • Collaborators: You believe care is better when professions actually work together.

  • Educators: You see teaching as part of practice.

  • Innovators: You'd rather create something new than inherit something polished.
